ajaxWrite is an Ajax based web word processor similar to Writely. It loads in a matter of seconds and works only with Firefox 1.5 or newer. Because of its use of XUL, it boasts the speed of a native application while still running off the internet. For the same reason, however, it currently relies on a Mozilla-compatible browser to run.

It was created by Michael Robertson, former CEO of Linspire and MP3.com. It is the first of several upcoming Web-based applications from Ajax 13.

It currently supports opening and saving as Microsoft Word documents, OpenDocument documents, RTF documents, PDF documents, and plain text documents. It can only save files to a local machine.
