The Musafir Khana Palace burned to the ground in 1998. It was known also as the Musafirkana Palace, and was located In Cairo, Egypt where it was built between 1779 and 1788 by Mahmud Muharram, a wealthy merchant. It was the birthplace of the Khedive Ismai'l 1830-1895. Muhammad Ali bought the palace in the early 19th century to use as a royal guesthouse. It was excellent example of Ottoman Style.
