Alan L. Isenberg is an American journalist and foreign affairs analyst based at Newsweek International [197]. His writing has also appeared in the Financial Times, International Herald Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Orbis (where he was a contributing editor from 2002-2005) and several other publications. He has been a guest commentator on CNN, BBC, and several other television and radio stations.

Isenberg writes mostly about the Middle East, especially Iran's nuclear program, Iranian politics, and Israel. He reported for Newsweek's January 16, 2006 cover story on Ariel Sharon's health and political legacy, entitled "Heart of a Nation."

Isenberg is a former fellow at Stanford University's Center for International Security and Cooperation and has also worked at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, D.C. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he received a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from Stanford Law School.
