Alaric the Mad is a character referenced in the Warhammer Fantasy realm. He was a master dwarven Rune Smith, so powerful that he was able to place multiple master runes, and indeed, more than three runes total, which is a feat beyond the powers of current dwarven smiths.

Alaric is Credited with the forging of Ghal Maraz, the legendary hammer of Sigmar. Alaric also gifted Sigmar's Empire with twelve Runic Swords of spectacular power, called Runefangs. Each of these was given to one of the twelve Elector Counts, and came to represent their station. After their forging, Alaric disappeared from history.

Alaric has forged at least one Master rune, which negates the enemies armour save.
