Alefox (alternately spelled "Allefox") is a Mozilla Firefox based web browser which is, as of July 26, 2006, available only for Macintosh OS X-compatible computers.

Alefox was inspired by Alex Albrecht on the weekly video podcast entitled diggnation. During Diggnation Episode 55, Alex mentioned the Alefox concept as a joke, claiming that if he had a web browser named after him, it would crash only on Macintosh and be extremely secure. Shortly after the podcast was released, a fan of the show developed the browser.

The browser is currently in very early stages of development. Shortly after it was released, it was made open source and can now be found on SourceForge (links below). A Macintosh OS X version is available for download and a Windows version is planned.
