Aleveria is an online graphical
MUD based in a medieval fantasy setting. Due to
everything being in the process of being recoded, Aleveria is
currently considered to be in a pre-alpha
stage.
Background
Originally developed from the
Eidolon
Online source code, Aleveria has been through many changes in
terms of gameplay and storyline.
The original administration
consiterd of Fury, Game, and Pengant. Other members of staff
included Copenhagen (Head of Build), Frost (Early Head of Art),
Mantra (Builder), Ennui (Builder), Cerebrus (Artist) and Abalael
(Artist).
The game saw a comparably large influx of players in
early 2005. At this time development was swift with new features
being added often and reasonably reliable server. The build team
contributed several areas for players to enjoy (and cleaned up many
areas which had been submitted in an unusuable state) and more
testers became interested in Aleveria. Due to conflicts of
interest, Copenhagen and Frost both left the staff team in early
2006. The following months saw the rest of staff fall apart due to
corruption, primarily Game's decision to take Fury's modified
source to the developers of
Realms of Kaos: Revolution to use
with their project without any prior consultation with the other
members of staff.
In mid-2006 Fury reformed the Aleveria team
with a new group of administrators including Copenhagen, Serenus
,Truchidofortis and himself. Whilst keen to return Frost had moved
to work on
Realms of Kaos but agreed for the art he had
produced for the game to remain in the Aleveria client
exclusively.
New areas, npcs, items, and skills are to be worked
into the system once the server and client have been recoded. Some
testers are still active on the message boards, but due to not
having an active game, much of the community appears to be
inactive.

Gameplay
Players
are allowed to choose from several races, each with their own
starting abilities and statistics. As characters advance, they will
be given skill and stat points to increase their abilities. Skills
are set up as a "tree" system, so to obtain the most advanced
skills, a player must train in the right "branches." It is
undetermined if players will be allowed to choose a class for added
benefits and restrictions to their chosen trees.
Role-play is encouraged and
will likely be rewarded, but is not mandatory.
PvP is allowed.
Guilds can be created by
players, and bonuses can be bought by guild leaders to affect
everyone in the guild, making it beneficial for players to work
together.
