In the late
1970s, Laurier taught acting at The Weist Barron School Of
Television (headed by Margo Lane and Agotta Gabor and located in an
office suite on the west side of Bay Street at Bloor Street,
Toronto). The school accepted anyone who would pay tuition. The
class leader spent two hours, once a week taping children on video
camera reading scripts from previously produced commercials. The
tapes were replayed in class and critiqued. More money could be
spent on 8 x 10 headshots and tuition for additional classes but
the placement or casting rate of students to a production is
unknown.
