Alex Ostrovsky, 16, of West Bloomfield, Michigan, won Apple's "iTunes Billionth Song" contest by legally buying and downloading the billionth song off of the iTunes Music Store. The billionth song was "Speed of Sound" off of Coldplay's X&Y album, purchased on February 22, 2006.

As a reward, Ostrovsky received a 20-inch iMac, 10 fifth generation iPods, and a $10,000 iTunes Music Store gift card. Apple will also establish a scholarship to the world-renowned Juilliard School in his name.
