Alex Dizon was born on February 13, 1967 in Manila in the Phillpines. His father was a post master and his mother raised Dizon and three other siblings. At the tender age of six he was described picking the first pair of scissors to cut his mother's hair. He would tightly hold on to the scissors in bed, according to one source, and was planning the haircut of tomorrow every night. Alex moved to Hollywood in 1980 at the age of thirteen where Dizon had already discovered his talent for identifying beauty in hair. In High School Dizon was alreadhy sought after by his fellow students for the newest wave in fashion. In 1987, Dizon completed his studies as a fashion design major at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles . Dizon stumbled into Fashion styling when he had dressed a friend, male model Tod Martin, for a photo shoot for a personal portfolio and was complemented by the photographer for his sharp eye in creating the Model's external appearance. This soon led to hiring by Macy's Department Stores to style their spring catalog in 1995. Detour magazine featured Dizon's work in an article on fashion styiling that same year. In 1995, Dizon dissapeared under the radar until after having changed directions to hair styling and studying under Chris McMillan, a top Hairstlyist for stars such as Jennifer Anisten and other A list celebrities in Hollywood. His work sky rocketed a booming new style in the hair industry with originality exhibited in every new premiere for Hollywood's top clients. Alex Dizon, the hair stylist has had his work featured on every editorial fashion magazine from Vogue, Elle, In Style, Harvard's Bazaar, to Vanity Fair. You name the actor and their hair had been outdone and outtouched by a master of the trade. Dizon's other passion was reported to be art direction and he quickly proved his versatility by directing marketing campaign photo shoots as well as entertainmennt industry type events in Los Angeles in early 2000 and continues to prosper in this direction.
