Alexandra Mary Hedison (born July 10, 1969 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actress, playing in the series The L Word on Showtime. She is the daughter of actor David Hedison and actress Bridget Hedison and the sister of Serena Rose Hedison. She wrote and directed the film In The Dog House and directed a short documentary on Shelby Lynne for DirecTV called Suit Yourself.
She attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and lives in Los Angeles. From 2001-2004, she was in a relationship with actress/talkshow host Ellen DeGeneres.[citation needed]
