Alexis Jones (born July 6, 1983) is a former reality TV show contestant of Survivor: Micronesia—Fans vs. Favorites and currently a motivational speaker and the President/Founder of the empowerment company “I am That Girl”.[853]

Early life


Jones was born Alexis Whitney Jones in Austin, Texas. She is the daughter of University of Texas engineer Mark Jones and family law paralegal Claudia Mann. She has four older brothers and one younger step-sister. As a child, she lived in Westlake, a suburb in Austin, Texas.

Alexis attended Westlake in Austin, followed by the University of Southern California in Los Angles where she graduated with her undergraduate degree in International Relations/ Spanish in 2005. Alexis continued her education and received a Masters in Communication Management, also from the University of Southern California, in 2006.

Jones hosted a USC TV show called, “Doing it for Reel” for three years. She interviewed celebrities such as Steven Speilberg, George Lucas, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie at junkets and movie premieres. Alexis co-founded and reported for[ INSIDEUSC.COM][854], a website following USC’s 2005 football season and NFL elite rookies, Matt Leinart currently playing for the Arizona Cardinals and Reggie Bush, currently playing for the New Orleans Saints.

Career


Survivor


In 2008, she was cast in Survivor 16: Fans vs. Favorites, and was originally a member of the Airai tribe. The details are yet unknown as the season is still in progress. Jeff Probst was quoted saying, "that he would not be surprised if she took home a million dollars." As her luxury item, she brought a large Texas flag. Following her stint on Survivor, Jones continued her motivational speaking for girls.

She has been asked to speak at the new Ann Richards’ all girls’ leadership school and Austin’s empowerment organization called, [GirlStart][855], [GenAustin][856] and Laity Lodge Youth Camp. Alexis is also pursing a career as a TV personality/host.

I am That Girl


Jones started an empowerment company for girls/women called I am That Girl, in Beverly Hills, California. I am That Girl is a socially conscious company dedicated to personal development/life coaching, workshops and motivational speaking. Most recently, she launched the “I am That Girl” clothing line that includes t-shirts, tank tops and canvas tote bags.

Personal life


Jones has been very open about owing much of her career/success to the influence of her family and growing up in the “South” Austin, Texas.

Jones’ hero is Pippilongstocking, her favorite TV show is Survivor, she is a huge supporter of the University of Southern California Trojan football team. She also won the "Show Case Showdown" on The Price is Right, hosted by Bob Barker.

Alexis is open about the important role her Christian faith plays in her life and Bel Air Presbyterian, the church she currently attends.

Alexis hiked 150 miles to the Base Camp of Mt. Everest in Tibet.

Jones is known for her contagious optimism and “Southern Princess” stereotype coined by Mikey B, a fellow contestant on Survivor 16: Micronesia. In an interview she did with TV Guide, she claims that, “despite her dimples, she is fiercely competitive.”

CBS posted bonus footage of "Alexis/Joel alliance" on youtube, referring to her "vicious rhetoric."

Jones is also working on a book entitled, “Comatose Barbie,” having already completed, “Everything I need to learn, I learned in college.”

Jones is currently single, living in Beverly Hills, California.
