This article contains additional information about the band
Alexisonfire.
All the band's videos, except
"This Could Be Anywhere In The World" and "Boiled Frogs" were
directed by Marc Ricciardelli.
"Pulmonary
Archery"
Pulmonary Archery was the first music video from
Alexisonfire, released in 2002.
For their debut video for the song, "Pulmonary Archery", the band
were given a choice: to have a video that was simply performance
but looked good production-wise or a complex plotted video that
didn't look as good. The band chose the performance video, which
won
Best Video at the 2004 Canadian Independent Music
Awards.
"Counterparts And Number Them"
The second music
video from the band's debut album was released in 2003. Marc
Ricciardelli, the director, states he wishes to create videos that
are unusual and that people will not expect for this type of band.
"Counterparts And Number Them", for example shows the band, all
wearing baby pink shirts, performing in a park on a sunny day while
children run around playing.
"Waterwings (And Other Poolside
Fashion Faux Pas)"
Alexisonfire's third music video,
"Waterwings (And Other Poolside Fashion Faux Pas)", shows each
member of the band in separate street gangs who go on to show off
their best dance moves as they duke it out in an old fashioned
dance-off competition. Dallas is in 'The Daggers', George is in
'The Lower Eastside Splatter Punks', Jesse is in 'The Roller
Girls', Wade is in 'The Geraghtys' and Chris is in 'The
Butterscotch Boys'. The introduction, by George, to the dance off
is spoken in Latin. Friends of the band star in the video including
members of
Moneen.
"Accidents"
The first music video
from the album
Watch Out! first aired on December 18, 2004.
"Accidents" was more serious than their previous videos, showing
the band tearing through Toronto as paramedics (except for Jesse
Ingelevics, who was the injured man that was knocked off his bike
and the band were rushing to save).
"No
Transitory"
Alexisonfire's second music video from
Watch
Out! first aired in February 2005.
The video is shot entirely
in black and white. It features the band playing in a room with
theatre backdrops/scenery, including a shop lined street and a
woodland. The main focus of the video is the bands performance,
using interesting camera angles and artistic shots.
"Hey, It's
Your Funeral Mama"
The third music video from
Watch
Out! first aired in September 2005. "Hey, It's Your Funeral
Mama" sees the band 'auditioning' replacements for themselves so as
to avoid touring the world. Each new 'member' is played by friends
of the band. In the video, the black "Wade" wearing the football
jersey is Dallas Green's brother-in-law, Jay<ref>Various
pictures by Jordin Green (Dallas Green's Sister), in which Jay, or
the black "Wade", has a caption depicting him as Jordin's husband;

here</ref>. One of the Georges is
played by Kenny Bridges from
Moneen, one of the Ratbeards is played by Moneen
drummer Peter Krpan, one of the Dallases is played by Liam Cormier
of the Cancer Bats and one of the Chris's is played by Brent
Jackson of the Brampton based indie rock band The Junction. This
video also sees the band poking fun at themselves and any
particular quirks they may have. For example, Dallas is teaching
future Dallas' how to swish their hair properly - just like he does
and Wade measures all the Wades' sideburns to make sure they are
the right size.
"Passing Out In America/Accidents Are On
Purpose"
Their video for "Passing Out In America/Accidents Are
On Purpose" is a video shared with
Moneen from
The Switcheroo
Series: Alexisonfire vs. Moneen. It employs a split screen
technique with both bands' videos happening at the same time and
interacting with each other. It first aired in February
2006.
"This Could Be Anywhere In The World"
Their first
video from
Crisis, "This Could Be Anywhere In The
World", is directed by Chris Sargent and Steve Mottershead and is
the band's first video not directed by Marc Ricciardelli. The
atmosphere and feel of the video is far more serious than previous
videos and is completely performanced based - the band plays while
surrounded by water, rain, fire and wind.
"Boiled
Frogs"
Their second video from Crisis. The video is the second
directed and photographed by Chris Sargent. All five members of the
band are portrayed in an intertwining story of what amounts to a
metaphor of life and career. Shot on seven locations over two days
the epic video contains no performance.
"Rough Hands"
This
will be their 3rd video from Crisis, and 10th overall. It was
announced on April 5th, 2007 on the VideoFact website, that
Alexisonfire had received a grant to shoot a video for this song.
Premiered June 27 2007 on M.O.D. on Muchmusic. Marc Ricciardelli
returned to directed the video.
