Algorego is an innovative software development company in Latvia specialized in database development. The main product is a unique relational database engine that offers data compression but does not limit data search in the compressed data<ref> [662] Technology whitepaper</ref>. The database engine was developed by scientists at the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Latvia<ref> [663]Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Latvia</ref>.

History

Headquartered in Riga (Latvia), Algorego history dates back to 1996. The former name of the company is SmartImage Solutions. Back in 1996 the founders of the company were working on rain sensor for cars and later in 2002 on fake coin detection sensors.
