Alhazi Invasion was a
MUD, a
rather typical hack'n'slash mud. It was based on another MUD called
Myrradel, from which
it was derived in late 1998 (thanks go to Raiden, Wilco, & Co.
for the code, areas, and other stuff). During the approximately
five years Alhazi Invasion was online, it gathered a smallish or
medium-sized player base: mostly from Singapore, but some people
also came from North-America, Northern-Europe, Australia et.
al.
Features
The following list attempts to summarize the
most significant features the mud offered:
A relatively large
world: about 10700 rooms Two continents (third was under work)
A sub class
system, in addition to normal classes 80 mortal levels Special
remort races A lot of new skills and spells, in comparison to the stock UltraEnvy concept
PlayerKilling (or rather,
PlayerCharacterKilling), without any experience or equipment loss PlayerStealing (stealing of equipment
and money from player characters) Clans, clan battles, clan halls, clan-owned areas, etc. Automatic
PK Arenas A modest ship system Partially
customizable ansi colours
Modified ILAB On-Line Creation system for those who were willing
to build areas Slightly expanded MOBProgs system for builders Modified UltraEnvy engine
Status
For most of the time, the mud was hosted on
mudhost.com, port 6000, and it was, as far as I know, originally
founded by Aias (with help from a few other implementors, of
course).
Alhazi Invasion UltraEnvyMUD is no longer running; it
was closed permanently on 02.02.2004.
