Alpha Kappa Divah (AKD), also known as Women on One Accord, is a Christian sorority founded in Baltimore, Maryland in 2006. The sorority is the first non-collegiate sorority in the State of Maryland.

History

Alpha Kappa Divah was founded on August 10, 2006, by Rhonda M. Moore. Rhonda started a youth mentorship program in March 2005 with thirteen 5th graders from Northwood Elementary. The group was called the Lil Divahs. Many of the parents were single mothers or fathers who needed a sisterhood/brotherhood need in their lives. AKD sorority and MOD fraternity was found to give men/women an opportunity to become a part of a Non-Greek-lettered Christian organization, forming a brotherhood/sisterhood bond based on Spiritual principles, so that no one had to compromise their beliefs and could represent Christ. Thus, The Divahs Club was found in March 2005 and is the Headquarters for AKD.

In 2007, the sorority took in its first member. Tawanetta Branch is known as the Divine Distinction. The Sorority continues to grow in the United States. AKD has had petitions to become a collegiate sorority in MD and NY.
