Alt-N Technologies, Ltd., a software development company, was founded in 1996, by Arvel Hathcock to manufacture and sell the MDaemon email server for Windows.[1] Alt-N Technologies develops email messaging and security server applications for the medium and small business communities. Its products are deployed in over 90 countries and 20 languages.[2]

Alt-N Technologies’ products are sold and supported internationally through a network of distributors and resellers.[3]

Alt-N Technologies is a US-based software company founded in 1996 that specialises in telecommunications server software.

Their flagship software product is the MDaemon e-mail server. It has a very significant share of the email server market on the Microsoft Windows server platform when excluding Microsofts Exchange product, primarily being users not suited to Microsofts larger corporate priced/scaled offerings.

    Alt-N Technologies was founded in 1996 by Arvel Hathcock when he started selling MDaemon. At that time e-commerce was being developed but he frequently received checks by mail. As the company grew they changed locations and staff was brought on to help with documentation, management, programming and support.

    Today


    Today, the company's flagship product, the Windows-based MDaemon email server, is used by businesses in over 90 countries and 20 languages having deployed millions of mailboxes worldwide. According to results from the monthly email server surveys conducted by SecuritySpace.com, it has become one of the most widely used email servers on the market.
