Amanda Hatfield is the current editor of the Matlock Mercury, the local newspaper published in Matlock, Derbyshire. She has held the post since March 2002, when she took over from Don Hale following his retirement. She is also editor of the Buxton Advertiser and is responsible for the Peak Advertiser, a free delivery newspaper published by the same group, Johnston Press.

Previously Hatfield had worked at the Diss Express for 10 years and, before that, had stints at the Bury Free Press and East Anglian Daily Times.
