Amanullah Parsa (born
27 December 1933) is an
Afghan modern artist and teacher.
He works in a
neo-impressionist style.
As a teacher he specializes in the education of handicapped students.
Amanullah Parsa was born in
Kabul, Afghanistan.
When he was 17 years old he won a prize for a
papier-mâché sculpture, and in 1952, at 19 years of age, he won an Afghan national painting competition.
After receiving a scholarship from the Italian Government he moved to
Rome and studied Fine Art at the
Accademia Di Belle Arti.
In 1965 he was awarded silver medals at exhibitions in Rome and in
Mauritania.
He has exhibited at the
Petrofi Gallery (1989) in Milan and in a group exhibitions in
Alexandria, Virginia (1990, 1998) and Rome (1992).
For his teaching he has been awarded prizes by the Department of Education of the City of Milan (1987) and the Lyons Club of
Erba.
The
Cova School has recognized his recreational painting courses with awards.
He is the author of two books written in Italian: "Gli Sfidanti" (The Challengers) in 1985 and "Gli Amabili" (The Lovable Ones) in 1986.
