Amateur writing is
writing done by unknown or unpublished authors. It
is often
self-published or not
published at all.
The writing
can take many different forms, including writing
short stories,
poetry,
diaries, full-length
novels, and almost anything between.
Since the
creation of the
internet, amateur writing has become a much larger
fad, with thousands of
websites devoted to amateur writers,
blogs, and support-net style writing, such
as
NaNoWriMo.
Amateur writers can now self-publish on the internet, reaching an
unprecedented audience with a hobby that at one time may have
resulted in only a handful of close friends of the author seeing
the manuscript.
