Amazon-Survival<ref> Apex Player Review of AS</ref> (also known as AmazonSurvival and abbreviated to AS) is a English browser-based game developed by the CE Network and Nyna.co.uk.

Amazon-Survival was created by Isomizer, using the popluar mccode engine v1.0<ref> mccode game engine</ref>. On May, 2008 the CE Network bought the game from Isomizer and started revamping the game fully with the help of Nyna.

It is programmed in PHP, JavaScript and MySQL and runs in the browser. It is the first released free game by the CE Network.

The Game

After crash landing your plane, you're stranded in a part of the Amazon. Nobody's up for rescuing you, so you decide to stay there. Luckily for you, there's a small village near by that welcomes everyone; thank god for that! This is a game where you create a character, then live in the environment of the Amazon, deep in Brazil's jungles. You struggle to become the best and compete against many other players. Commit crimes, get a job, attack others users; the choices go on and on. This game also has no resets, the game goes on and on. Fight to be the #1 Player or #1 Tribe. Users all have different strategies, which gives a broad different amount of players.

Player field

<u>Power Bar</u>
This can be used for a few things, first of all you can use it for the P.Gym which will allow you to update your stats which in turn builds up your character. It can also be used to attack people although to begin with its not a good idea to be attacking people as the last thing you want is enemies so early on in the game. Another thing you can do with it is to explore which helps you find a few extra $'s and maybe a crystal or two but be careful there are down sides also.

<u>Motivation Bar</u>
This is currently only used for one thing and thats training, whether is be in the Power Gym or the Crystal Gym, the more you train power or crystals the more motivation gets used up. Its always best to wait until this bar is back up to maximum before re-training as the gains for this are alot higher.

<u>Bottle Bar</u>
You can use your Bottle to commit crimes aswell as robbing people, commiting crimes have there downsides too so if there is a crime you always fail at then why not try and upgrade some of your stats and see if that helps. Robbing people isnt always successful either as you get a % of how successful you will be when robbing (robbing someone while they are in hospital gives you a greater chance of success)

<u>Cash</u>
This one is fairly straight forward its how much in-game currency you currently have available in you account to buy upgrades such as housing or to buy weapons or armour and other such stuff.

<u>Crystals</u>
This displays how many crstals you have available to you. These can be used to train at the Crystal Gym to increase you stats which is always a good thing however be aware when starting off dont train to many at once as it's a bit of a waste instead try to train small chunks as this has alot better gains in the long run. You can buy & sell crystals in the Crystal Market which is available in the Jungle link down the left hand side of the screen.

Tribes

AS players can form tribes, which are like clubs of friends or similar minded players. While some tribes require a payment or certain ingame stats to join, others are completely free.

Tribes take an amount of AS $ to create and many extra features are available for members, such as a private forum, bank, armoury and much more. Tribes are controlled by the tribe "founder/leader" who have the power to moderate any available aspect in the tribe.

Community

Amazon-Survival's userbase of over 7,000 players in less than a month interact using a variety of tools: the in-game message system, IRC chat, and offsite forums among them. Users are also able to create their own tribes and have a private ingame forum to communicate with their members. The design of Amazon-Survival makes community interaction almost a necessity, especially to achieve high levels of success.

Administrators

AS has several types of administrators, they can be easy spotted by the green coloured nickname and/or on the staff page. Every administrator also has a AS player account, just as normal users do. Administrators are chosen by many different methods, depending on the type of administrator, but there is no way to apply for an administrative position within the game.<br>

;The CE Team
The CE Team members are responsible for game development and maintenance, both software and hardware-related. The devs are the only administrators who actually have special access to the game's code.

;GameMasters (GM)
GameMasters (GMs) have many in-game responsibilities, such as processing user account creations, catching and punishing cheaters, and assisting players with various problems with their team. Two types of GMs exist - "Super" SGMs, who are responsible for multiple problems, and GMs, who are solely responsible for minor problems and helping players with game related questions. All GMs are also forum moderators. Generally the number of GMs within a server is proportional to the number of users on that server, though this is not always the case.<br>

;Forum Moderators (Mod)
Forum Moderators (Mods) are responsible for management of the public forum system. Mods may issue forums bans for unruly users, move or close threads that are in the wrong forum, against the rules, or have gone off topic, and create "sticky" posts about important issues such as events. Both MODs and GMs may issue bans<ref> Ban Rules</ref> for behavior against "the rules"<ref> Game Rules</ref> even if the action is not explicitly against the game rules.

Events

AS holds various player and team events during the year, ranging from special updates to holidays (April Fools, 4th of July, Halloween, Easter, Christmas, Valentine's day, etc). These events also reward AS players with commemorative items during the event. Sometimes, rewards will even include premium features, such as donator packages and 150 power bars.

Donations

Though Amazon-Survival is free to play, the game costs money to run and requires a certain amount of income to stay functional. The game's donations page offers a few different packages with premium features which also can be obtained for free in game.

The most common purchase is the donators package. Donator packages costs starts at $4.99 per month (or $47.50 if purchasing for 10 months) and is a one-time non-subscription purchase. In addition to receiving a icon next to their name in and having it coloured on all pages, donators also access a large number of premium features.

The second most purchased option is a 150 power bar. The 150 power bar instead of a 100 power bar is a one time fee of $10.00 as long the player playes the game.
