Backround

The American Fascist Movement was created in 1999 to eventually create a new Fascist Party in the United States. Which succeded in 2001. It later lapsed and seemed to disapear but returned in 2006 stronger than ever. The AFP draws a distinction between Fascism and Nazism. It seeks to promote what it holds to be the true and original ideals of Fascism as the ideology existed in Italy under Mussolini.
The AFP claims that racism and antisemitism are not a part of Fascism. It aims to disassociate these beliefs through historical research, with the goal of producing a new understanding of Fascism and prove fascism's advantages to Liberal Democracy.

According to its website, the AFP is "a solidarity movement, uniting all Fascists, Populists, and =Nationalists alike. By providing informational, logistical, technical, educational, and various other means of support, they hope to cultivate an immensely powerful movement for all Americans who want change in America's contemporary decadent, 'democratic' system."

The AFP is aligned with the American Fascist Movement and is a member of the Fascist Confederation.

Fascist Points

  • The AFM emphasizes the importance of national pride in every aspect of life. The organisation incorporates strong elements of Nationalism.

  • The AFM claims to be non-racist and wish to distinguish a divide between its own Fascist platform and Italian Fascism's past affiliation with Nazism.

  • The AFM state that it is essential for the nation to be recognised as an organic whole, and believes it must incorporate the disciplined lifestyle of the military in order to maintain security and cohesion.

  • Strong importance is placed upon the nation as a growing entity with a telos and means of action transcending the individuals of whom it is composed, incorporating elements of Corporatism as well as the Corporate State.

  • The AFM regards Democracy as the antithesis to Fascism, and considers democratic ideals to be a façade for chaos. They reject individualism and libertarianism, and consider freedom of choice to lead inexorably to social chaos.

  • The AFM, in accordance with its understanding of Fascism, professes to recognize and respect all religions, provided they "are tolerant of other religions and coincide with the state".

  • The AFM, recognizes the importance of a strong economy, although this can be misundertstood, a Fascist installment would apply this to all Industrial and Commercial affairs, whether the company is small or large (a common misundertanding is that Fascism favors the large company).

  • Fascist Theory

The task of creating an all-encompassing ideology is of course, a daunting one; and though I do not want to underestimate the importance of having a document that one can rely on for guidance as far as the Party=s fundamental beliefs and direction, it would be too great (and reckless) a project to try to produce such a thing in rapid time. As is the case in all thought-oriented endeavors, the production of a political theory is a gradual one, subject to trial and error and the inevitable shifting positions related to the personalities of its originators and the needs and wants of the citizenry. Nonetheless it is the attempt of this author to put down at least the prime elements of a burgeoning thought, with the hope that the great efforts of my like-minded comrades might assist to further develop and hone areas of grey, and polish places of roughness. It is not the intent of this author to try to present this work as the final and ultimate authority on fascist practice in our nation, but it is the aim of this author to provoke discussion on the many issues confronted, and eventually through the good-faith arguments of my comrades disseminate further clarifications, modifications or perhaps fundamental changes to the ideas presented here; all in the desire to mold our ideology in the form of a Party representing the highest ideals of our populace.

    The Fascist Goal

Fascism is a political ideology. At this very statement most agreement over what Fascism actually is begins to come apart, and there has been no end to the discussion on the theory and practice of Fascism since the initial use of the word itself. For the most part, focus has been leveled, and remains on the practice of the regimes to which the ideology has been historically affixed, including, but not limited to Germany, Italy, Spain, Romania, Argentina, even Japan, among others. In addition to criticism of the methods of these regimes, the title of AFascism@ has been variously used in conjunction with political attacks in this country against any number of politicians, ideas and civil groups exhibiting a generally socially conservative nature. Indeed the ultimate end of the current true Fascist ideologues has been to wrest the word back from misappropriation by the public. This takes the form of trying to defend against the perceptions of the public that the Fascist is a thug, a tyrant, a racist, or all of the above.
While this is important, and will eventually have to be accomplished, it misses the point for the most part. The fundamental problem is that the average individual is more focused on the individual acts of the Fascist Party (as defined by historical precedent) than the theory behind the Party itself. That is to say that the American citizen would be far more likely to jump forward to the presumed results of a Fascist state, rather than look at the aims of the Party as the ultimate rationale for either accepting or denying it. This is not difficult to understand considering the total weight on the American psyche that the combination of actual offenses committed by AFascist@ governments, and the injustices of various odious dictatorships misstated as AFascist@, has had. In short, what is the most important facet of any political theory is the fact that at its core it is not malevolent. Every theorist sets out to raise the standard of living and social welfare of all the citizens, not to subjugate the masses or destroy a people, nation or culture. This must be constantly and forcefully presented to the American public. Motive is quite simply the strongest opening card of the Fascist. While practice or action by Fascists has been destructive in the past, it in no way takes away from the altruism of the original theory, or the ability of the current Fascist to incorporate some of the best elements of modern political ideas into a new working Fascism. It is the ultimate goal of the Party to put in motion the re-creation of the noblest aspirations of the original theorist in the hearts and minds of the citizenry as a whole, and to harness the collective good-will toward proper governance.

    Political Structure

The average citizen of our great nation most likely at the very least harbors significant reservation about Fascism, and at the very most, sheer repulsion. Considering a number of historical factors and the current political climate, this is hardly surprising. On the one hand they probably have a large misunderstanding of the basic political theory of original Fascist theory, colored as it was by unfortunate association with the brutal human destruction and waste of the Second World War. On the other hand, there has been a wholesale misappropriation of its name by democratic forces on the right and left of the political spectrum, designed to smear opponents and inflame public sensibilities. In short, Fascism has ceased to be anything more than an insult to opposing ideas; its realities as a progressive and empowering political theory clouded by fraudulent labels as racist, conservative and reactionary. In this climate, it is easily understood why the average citizen should initially believe that Fascism does not apply to his or her life.
