American River Touring Association, also known as ARTA, is a non-profit based in California and founded in 1963. Their mission is to introduce guests to the wilderness through whitewater rafting trips in the California Sierras, Oregon Cascades, Idaho Rockies, and Utah Canyons. Surplus revenues generated by their trips are reinvested in the company or donated to conservation organizations such as American Rivers, Friends of the River, and American River Conservancy.
