Amintore Peluso
(born 29th January 1987 Box Hill, Melbourne) is a self proclaimed 'Human' who has called Australia home for more than 19 years. He has a keen interest in World War 2 and comedy, (somehow he manages to combine the 2 into one topic) however his main hobbies always seem to revolve around computers. His current annual earnings from work related activities is $0.00 (aus).

Early Life

Amintore Peluso was born in Box Hill hospital.
As a child, Amintore experienced life form a middle class perspective, although at age 5 he probably didn't know the meaning of the word perspective.

At primary school Amintore was always getting into trouble, due to his reputation for socializing at innapropriate times.
In fact this behavior remains with him to the present day. But it wasn't till around the time he was in 5th grade that his teachers noticed that he may be 'gifted'. Throughout the remainder of his primary school days he was subjected to weekly tests by a professional hired by the school. At the end of the year it was determined Amintore was certainly gifted, and his intelligence was in the top 5% of other people in his age group. However, due to numerous reasons his talents were doomed to go to waste, the main one being Amintore's own lack of motivation.

In the year 1997 Amintore's moved primary schools, and it was at this place that it was discovered he had a talent for acting.
He was given the lead role in his school's play (1998). Despite being given rave reviews by family and friends, this memory has continued to haunt him throughout his life.

High School

In 1999 Amintore enrolled at Vermont Secondary College.
Amintore's performance at school was highly erratic, sometimes he would hand in assignments that were A material at the very least, other times he didn't even finish his work at all. Some teachers believed he was a complete failure as a student and quickly abandoned any hope of teaching him. Whilst others managed to spot his hidden talents and took interest in him.

Overall Amintore's high school performance was sub-par, and he failed his final year.
He later decided to repeat year 12 which he says. "Was one of the best things I ever did!"

The Adventures of Nick

During his first year of year 12, Amintore also took an avid interest in developing comic strips. By far, his most popular series was 'The Adventure's of Nick'. Where his fellow students would literally line up just to read it. The series started as a poorly drawn stick figure cartoon featuring the main character 'Nick'. But the series later evolved into a slightly less poorly drawn cartoon.

The character of Nick was actually loosely based on one of Amintore's High School friends, Nick Crossett.
.

The Adventures of Nick seemed to always consist of the character Nick, and his misfortunes in life. it was not uncommon to see Nick roaming the Sahara Desert in search of water, for no apparent reason.
Or for him to be tricked into selling his soul to the devil.
A total of 51 full A4 page episodes were created.
Along with numerous 3 box strips and splash-panels.

The comics have now been discontinued, however there is a rumor that Amintore may be making one final full length feature comic book, for the 2-Dimensional hero.

Year 12, Take 2

Amintore's second time around in 2005 yielded slightly better results academically, which earned him a pass in his VCE.
Although Amintore wasn't referring to his passing grade as the best thing about repeating year 12. He was referring to none other than the love of his life, Rebecca Mallison.

Rebecca

During his second year of year 12, Amintore met Rebecca.
They first met through mutual friends, and their friendship quickly grew. Amintore says he owes his good first impression with Rebecca to an article he published in an independent newsletter that he and his friend, Kane Crawford published. "The newsletter was a great thing, it's too bad Kane and I only made one issue of 'The Yellow-Dart Times'... But I guess we had so many great ideas that we could never only focus on one." Amintore's friendship later evolved into a strong pen-pal based relationship, which still goes on to this day.

Amintore asked Rebecca out at a party at her house, on the 1st October 2005 due to some encouragement by another of his friends, Chris Knight.
And for that reason Amintore wishes to express his thanks to Chris. "Chris, I'd just like to say thank you for that little challenge you gave me on that night.

He has said on numerous occasions that he cannot stand to be away from her, so it was no surprise that he was saddened to find out that Rebecca would leave the country on a round the world tour.
Despite being thousands of kilometers away, Amintore and Rebecca continued to write each other letters.

Every piece of mail that Amintore has received from Rebecca has been kept and cherished.
They are currently held in a drawer in his bedroom, where they can be easily rescued in case his house catches on fire.

The Article

The following text is the un-edited final copy of Amintore's rant article published issue #1 in the Yellow Dart Times:

THE THINGS I LIKE THAT EVERYONE ELSE DOESN’T

It takes all sorts of people to make the world go around… or was that gravity?
Either way the point is different people have different opinions. Difference of opinion is a great and wonderful thing; it starts wars, gets people killed, divorces married people, gets employees fired from work and it gets me banned from the local history museum for 6 months.

But I digress… You see i'm constantly searching for new things that might interest me, and occasionally ill stumble on a great and marvelous thing.
Most of these things I fall in love with end up being loathed and hated by anyone seeking attention… or political correctness.

A prime example of this is my taste in music, sure I love to listen to mainstream bands such as Blink-182, Greenday and Sum 41.
But I also love to listen to the relatively unknown bands; Jawbreaker, Armchair Martian, Built to Spill and The Descendents. However my personal favorite would be The Ataris. Lets face it, you’ve never even heard of these bands, and if you have, you probably hate them.

And then there’s those people who have a 3 band vocabulary and listen only to popular music, for the sake of being popular.
Chances are if they heard one of those songs before it became popular, they’d hate it, only because it wasn’t popular.

There’s plenty of undiscovered talent out there in the music world.
So i’m asking you not as a writer but as your friend, the next time your down at the music store and you have an extra couple of minutes to burn, why not listen to a band or artist you’ve never heard of. Who knows, you might even like it, but I wont lie to you, chances are you’ll hate it and you’ll ask yourself “Why the hell did I listen to this in the first place, I wasted 5 minutes of my life listening to this piece of crap…” But hey! At least you tried, and in the end isn’t that s all that matters?

If it’s not please disregard this article and return to the hustle and bustle that you call living, in your short pathetic human lives.

The article was an instant hit with Amintore's friends.
Or at least that is what he likes to tell people.

Current Status

When Amintore is asked what his current status is, his reply is usually.
"Current status? Why the hell do you wanna know that?

He is currently studying, and that term is used very loosely, to complete his advanced diploma of Information Technology.
Which was perhaps the easiest IT course that required the least amount of work.

  • Conclusion

Apart from breathing, eating, drinking and sleeping, Amintore also enjoys avoiding work and wasting time.
In fact he has become so good at the last two things; he can do them at the same time with almost no extra effort.

Amintore is perhaps a very unique person on this earth, but then again, who isn't.
His personality and sense of humor is enjoyed by many, but not all. When asked what he thinks of his life he simply responds: "It's been great! Especially since I met Rebecca."
