Amrys is the feminine version of the masculine name Emrys, both of Welsh descent.
It originated from the name Amerysa one of the lesser goddesses in Welsh mythology she supposedly was the goddess of flowers, wed to the river god Saphne.
Historians believe that the Welsh developed her name into Amrys meaning flower child in 1200 CE.
