Anatoliy Izrailevich Shapiro (Russian:
Анатолий Израилевич Шапиро) is a Russian-American artist.
He established the
Shapiro's Art Studio in 1972 after graduating from the
Leningrad (now
St.
Petersburg) Institute of Art where he had earned his Master's
Degree in Art. In 1976 he accepted the position of Diorama and
Mural designer at the Decorative and Fine Art Trust in Leningrad.
In 1985 joined the St. Petersburg Artists' Union. After emigrating
to the United States in 1992, he produced dioramas and murals for the "Fantasy of Flight" attraction in
Polk
City, Florida; the W.Chrysler Museum in Detroit,
Michigan; Children's Science Museum in Phoenix, Arizona,
American Wilderness Experience in Ontario, CA; National
Civil
War Museum of Medicine, Frederick, Maryland; and many
others. Now Shapiro's Art Studio works in areas such as mural and
diorama, portraiture, scenery painting, and set design.
