Andrew F. Knight is an
US patent agent and
inventorHe became noted in
2005 for being the first person to file a
patent with the
USPTO to claim a
fictional storyline. He formed
Knight & Associates, a
patent protection firm that offers its services for clients wishing
to make use of story patents.
The application has been
published, but not yet granted. The idea of patenting specific
plots has already attained fame and heated controversy; many
opposers decry the concept as ridiculous and fear that it would
stifle innovation and creativity, while Knight himself believes
that plot patents would have the opposite effect.
There is a
question as to whether or not Mr. Knight is a figure of sufficient
cultural currency to merit a Wiki page, and whether or not the page
merely feeds his self-promotional interests. However, it is worth
noting that the page itself was not, apparently, put up by Mr.
Knight himself.
Note: the following HAS been written by Mr.
Knight. Mr. Knight agrees that he is most certainly not a figure of
"sufficient cultural currency," and leaves such sought-after titles
to far more interesting folk such as Kevin Federline ("K-Fed" for
those having sufficient cultural awareness) and Paris Hilton. He
requests that you stop reading this idiot Wiki entry as soon as
possible.
