Andrew Thatcher is an Australian born actor and film director. His directing highlights include the 2007 feature film A fist full of bullets. [1] and the 2009 feature film Two's company, thieves a crowd, both of which he also starred in.

Biography

Andrew Thatcher was born 11/01/84 in Sydney, Australia. He is of Spanish and Australian descent.

At a young age Andrew was placed in a gifted childrens program for his creative thinking and had his imagination and creativity aknowledged and nurtured.

Andrew started officialy acting and writing scripts in YR11 & YR 12 Drama where he was awarded second place in the 'Carnivale Christie' competition for his portrayl as Sir Thomas More in an extract from 'A Man for All Seasons'. He also had a screen play of his own performed for the HSC where he also played the main role.

Besides film making Andrew also has a background in Advertising and Marketing which have helped him think outside the box.

Outside of film making and acting Andrew has a passion for photography and has had his works published on numerous occasions He also enjoys drawing, writing and martial arts.

Much like his acting abilities Andrews experience is very versatile. He has thus far: Was lead actor in a Hyundai financial advertisement, appeared as an extra in Home and Away, has appeared as the lead in a Year long running ABC2 TV spot, has modelled extensively for over 3 years, and has starred in various independent features and shorts. Andew also has been hard at work making his own short films and features, perfecting his art with each new project undertaken.

His film making gives him an opportunity to flex his acting muscles on a regular basis and also allows him to share his imagination with the world. His movies always have captivated the audiences and created memorable stories, and his directing skills have ensured he gets the best performances out of all actors involved.

Andrew Thatcher originally specialised in animation before venturing into short films. Andrew wanted every second of his first attempt at a feature to contain his style and flair... A Fist Full of Bullets Andrews first feature length film was the result. Made on a shoe string budget Andrew got to hone his film making skills whilst at the same time gaining a loyal fan base. [1]

While Andrew's favourite genre is action he has experimented with horror, drama and comedy.

Andrews latest film is the 2009 feature length "Twos company, Thieves a crowd' which he wrote, directed, edited and starred in. the film has screened well with audiences and it appears Andrew's career and exposure continues to grow with every step. Andrew has built a reputation for being loyal to his cast and crew and using a small group of actors and musicians for most of his projects.

Martial Arts Background

Andrew has studied the following styles: karate, American Kenpo, Tae Kwon Do, Kickboxing, Boxing, Jeet Kun Do

Andrew also has also studied & sampled various styles to gain a broad variety of moves and techniques that may be utilised when doing fight choreography.

His abilities go beyond the silver screen and Andrew has been competing in Full contact tournaments for years. He currently is underfeated Heavy Weight Champion for his Tae Kwon Do's club tournaments.

Andrew's inspiration to get involved with martial arts were actors Jean Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris. Andrew's fighting style has a strong emphasis on strong and fast kicks, particularly round house kicks and spinning hook kicks.
