Andrew Wellman is an American novelist. He was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1968.<br /><br />
After winning the 1989 Playboy College Fiction Contest for the short story, "The Madison Heights Syndrome", his novel, "S.F.W." was published in 1991 and made into a 1994 feature film starring Stephen Dorff and Reese Witherspoon.

Wellman has recently made a post on imdb.com http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111048/board/nest/63026944 entitled "Shameless self-promotion." The post was made on Thursday, January 4, 2007 letting fans of the film know he is still writing.

He also added a link to his blog http://andrewwellman.blogspot.com/2007/01/introduction.html which contains a little about himself and the difficulties of getting his more recent works published.
