Ryder Cups,
Freddie
Mercury Tributes to
Justin Timberlake Extravaganzas, Andy
Ewings’ input to almost every major event either side of the
Irish Sea over the last two
decades is testament to both his passion and ability.
A
qualified nurse, he joined the staff of Wembley Stadium’s Medical
facility in the late eighties. From 1992, he took over
responsibility for the First Aid and Medical Care available within
the Conference Centre, Exhibition Halls, Arena and Stadium.
This
was followed by further advancements within Health and Safety by
achieving numerous qualifications within the field. During this
time Andy broadened his palette by overhauling the Safety and
Facilities management practices of a large multi-national
manufacturer’s factories in England and Wales. Experience gained
from setting up ongoing operational systems in this context
provided a valuable set of skills which counterpointed yet
complimented the Event focused work he was doing at the Wembley
complex.
Andy’s involvement with the filming of “
Mike Bassett, England
Manager” in 2000, as well as re-awaking fond memories of his days
on “
The Bill” a decade
earlier, lead him to expand his skill-set even further to encompass
TV and Film Safety. Also, contacts made here coupled with his
sporting connections, saw him being called upon more and more to
organise celebrity appearances for his clients and associates.
Andy remained part of the project team for the New Wembley
until 2001 when an offer from an Irish Safety Consultancy company
provided a new set of challenges to get stuck into. This move saw
him taking responsibility for Event Safety Management at major
indoor and outdoor events throughout the country.
In January
2006 Andy took the next logical step and set up a creative hub
specialising in tailored service provision for the Leisure, Events,
Theatre, Film, TV and Concert Industries.
During this period
Andy has appeared as well as consulted on various movie and
television productions.
