Anethole dithione (ADT, 5-[p-methoxyphenyl]-1,2-dithiole-3-thione) is an antioxidant compound, related to Anethole and more closely to Anethole trithione (ATT, drug name:Sulfarlem), that has shown chemoprotective activity against liver, lung and colon cancers in animal studies.[1], as well as neuroprotective of astroglia against oxidative damage following loss of glutathione.[2] It is hypothized that the aryl hydrocarbon receptor signaling pathway is involved.[1] It is similar in structure to alpha Lipoic Acid.
