Geography

The commune is situated in a marshy area, which is drained by the small river Curé, that empties into the Atlantic Ocean.

History

The commune probably dates back to the Gallo-Roman times, but little of that era remains. Sarcophagi discovered in the nineteenth century might be more recent.
