Ann Maartmann, Swedish singer, songwriter, pianist and actor.
Born in Nacka west of Stockholm M. educated her self at the Nacka kommunala musikskola before she left Sweden and moved to USA where she attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston in the early 80s. She studied composition, piano and song. After a detour in NYC where she played with her own band, The Ann Maartmann Band, at famous clubs like the CBGB's and studid acting at the prestigeous Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in NYC, she moved back to Sweden.

After being a backround vocalist for several bands she finally made her music debut in 1996 with the R&B single "Om Ändå Du" on BMG Sweden that also featured an English version "I Can't Wait".

The single was followed up by the album "Reconciliation" in 1998 on which she wrote and produced the entire set. The album presented a sensitive and personal soul jazz sound giving numerous examples of her excelllent piano play. The album sold good both in Sweden, North Korea and Japan.

In 2002 her second album "Swedish Gold" hit the market that continued on the same path as the first one. This Time however M. used outside writers together with own compositions.

She has also been an actor in minor roles on several big TV series.
