The daughter of educator Esther Wojcicki, Anne attended Gunn High School in Palo Alto, California, where she was one of three students voted Most Likely to Succeed in the 1991 yearbook.[2] She went on to graduate from Yale University with a B.S. in biology in 1996.[3]

After graduating, Wojcicki worked 10 years overseeing healthcare investments, focusing on biotechnology companies. In 2006, she left the investing world to co-found 23andMe with Linda Avey.[4]
