ANT Marketing is a telesales and telephone bussiness orientated center based in Sheffield, England. It also has offices in Rotherham and Chesterfield. Started by renowned international playboy Anthony Hinchcliffe in 1907, Ant has grown from an entirely steam-powered one-man business into one of the nation's biggest call centres.

Employees

ANT Marketing has a very varied employment policy, employing people from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and with varying levels of spoken English. Employees often speak proudly of their "modern" working envirnoment, running PCs that utilise the most up-to-date and reliable technology that Windows 95 can offer.

Payment

Ant Employees are paid monthly, although in a groundbreaking new payment policy, Ant Marketing's management have decided that the amount employees make should not depend on the hours they work, or how many calls they make. Pay cheques are calculated by the Random Wage Generating Machine, or WRGM, stored in the payroll department, and as a result often are lower than expected. This may account for why a department which has 16 spaces for staff regularly has 120 people on its staff list.

==Recrutment Policy==

The Ant Marketing Contract (a near-mythical document; despite enormous staff numbers, few workers are ever lucky enough to receive an actual contract) states that workers may be laid off at any time due to the fluctuating nature of the work. Fortunatly for the workers the fluctuating nature of the work means that most of them don't stick around long enough to be laid off. In fact, the Ant recrutment policy allows for roughly 80% of workers to complete the 15 hours they need in order to have the WRGM calculate their wage, then leave as quick as possible. As a result ANT Marketing has one of the highest staff turnovers in the UK, to the extent that in the monthly company newsletter one memeber of staff was praised for having completed a whole year with the company.
While this policy has attracted its fair share of criticism, economic analysts note that recruitment like this is in fact highly intelligent - by having such an astronomical rate of staff turnover, it is projected that by the end of 2008 Ant Marketing will have employed 99.7% of all 16- to 60-year-olds living in the UK. This will mean the company may actually have a better claim to overall national power than the current government, and rumours suggest that senior team leaders are already preparing for an all-out military coup.
