Ant McGinley
(Born Rochdale, Lancashire 09-06-1976) is a Irish-St Lucian DJ, actor, model and writer. He is the current presenter of the Drivetime show on Coast 96.3 radio station across the north coast of Wales, between 2pm and 7pm UTC Monday to Friday.

In his brief acting career, Ant appeared on stage at the Edinburgh Festival as well as in several short films, and also the epic mini-series Band of Brothers, alongside Tom Hanks.
Despite being notoriously secretive about his private life, this has not prevented speculation about his relationships and sexuality, and has been romantically linked by tabloid gossip pages with both actressAnna Friel and pop starRobbie Williams.

Before switching to presenting full time, Ant worked as a producer at BBC Radio 1, working on flagship dance shows from DJs Pete Tong, Judge Jules and Seb Fontaine.
He also worked for Classic FM before going on to present for SBN, The Storm, Kerrang!, Mercia FM before moving to Coast.

He also works under the alias The Antman although is no relation to the Marvel comic character and member of The Avengers Ant-Man. More than a stage name, the existence of this "other side" has been taken as evidence of his borderline dissociative personality status.

Long before becoming a Disc Jockey it seemed that he would be a Jock of a different sort.
He had trials with Manchester United as a teenager and also trained with the British Olympic Karate team before going on to study with legendary master Lo Pan in Shanghai provence for several months in the summer of 1992.

His promising athletic career was cut short when in 1994 he suffered a brain injury whilst playing American football which led to a complete change in direction for the future Sony Award winner.
A freak tackle severly damaged areas of the cerebral cortex on the right hemisphere of his brain. After a period of recuperation, friends and family reported a complete change in his personality. This is difficult to confirm as there are no scientific records of his personality prior to the accident. However, medical records confirm no occurence of mental difficulties until after this point. Aside from the apparent personality change, he suffers from Bi-polar disorder, ADHD, amnesia and narcolepsy. However the trauma also had a positive effect and released latent abilities, thought to be a result of the left side of his brain. He has developed a flair for art and language, its also claimed by some that he has a photographic memory, although this is hampered by the bouts of amnesia. Subsequently testing has proved inconclusive.

Inspired by his personal experience, Ant returned to university and gained a BSc in Human Pscyhology in 2000.
He went on to train as a Behavioural Therapist before crossing over into the media. He recently received an undisclosed advance for his autobiography which is expected tp be published in 2006, incredibly bookmakers are already quoting him as odds on favourite to win the booker prize in that year.

He remains one of the more enigmatic, if slightly unstable, personalities within the public domain.
