The word "antisemite" ( or "antisemitism") is sometimes used to denigrate people, institutions or groups that would not describe themselves as antisemites and that do not fall within the formal definition of the word.
As a political epithet it is most commonly applied to people and groups on that criticize Israel's actions and/or politics.
