Sergio Arroyo started playing in a band that he was starting with another drummer, guitarist, and singer (Tony).
This band was called the "Moonlight Combo."
The original drummer left the band and Sergio eventually brought Aaron Martinez into the new band to be the drummer.
In September of 2000 the guys asked Aaron's brother, Al Martinez, to come play a blues song with them at one of their shows, after playing a blues song, Al suggested they start playing a cumbia.
As soon as they did the crowd enjoyed it and started dancing.
At the next shows everyone started asking for more cumbias so Al started playing with them.
The original guitar player left the group and the band changed their name to "Moonlight Cruisers."
In 2005, they released an album titled, Gone.
