Anup Ghoshal (born 1949), is a singer Hindi films and other vernacular Indian films, especially Bengali language films.

Biography

Ghoshal was born to Amulya Chandra (father) and Labanya Ghoshal (mother). His musical training began at an early age from his mother. He graduated from Ashutosh College of the prestigious University of Calcutta in Kolkata, and subsequently obtained a doctoral degree from Rabindra Bharati University.

Ghoshal has been offered Honorary Citizen of Chicago in 1994 by Mayor Richard M. Daley,[1] as well as other awards:
