Anwar is an upcoming Malayalam film written and directed by Amal Neerad, starring Prithviraj in the title role.[2] The film is set against the background of terrorism. The film is reported to be released in July 2010.[3] The Official Website for Anwar was launched in January 2010.

The plot is not still revealed. However, Sify Movies reports that the protagonist, Anwar is a terrorist who recruits people from Kerala, trains them in the use of arms and ammunition and uses them as suicide bombers.[2] Speculation of this plot has attracted attention as Kerala has witnessed many such cases in the recent past.
Shoot for the film is to start in March, 2010.[citation needed] The main location is Kochi. The film is to wrap-up shooting by the end of April, 2010. Currently pre-production works are under way.
Tentative release time is in July, 2010.
