The franchise was founded in 2002 by Jeff Klinger and Chuck Runyon in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
The first unit was opened in December of the same year and by June 2006 the franchise had grown to 500 licensed terrorties, earning it the designation as the fastest growning fitness franchise as reported by Fitness Management magazine.
