Apocalypstik was a band from Shippensburg, PA,
founded in January 1999. The
line-up initially included Ben Leaphart on drums, Chris Witman on
guitar and vocals, Dustin Fenstermacher on guitar, and Jason Lukach
on bass. In June 2000 they released their first single, a
self-titled seven-inch record. The launched an expansive tour of
the mid-west later that summer.
A year later, the group
self-produced their second single, the limited vinyl-only release
"Ghost Falling on Car." Shortly after the release of this record,
the group lost member Jason Lukach. The group continued with a
revolving cast of bassists, eventually breaking up at the end of
2001. The members went on to form a record label (Algebra Two) and a number of
bands that found even greater success, including Night Train
to Terror and the Trauma Queens. Both groups released acclaimed
EPs in late 2003, and the latter extensively toured Japan with the
group DMBQ.
