The large majority of the Canadian population of Arab origin live in either Ontario or Quebec. In 2001, Ontario was home to 43% of the overall Arab community in Canada, while another 39% lived in Quebec. On the other hand, 8% lived in Alberta, 4% lived in British Columbia and 3% resided in Nova Scotia.

In 2001, almost 150,000 people of Arab descent lived in Ontario and 136,000 lived in Quebec, while 28,000 resided in Alberta, 15,000 made British Columbia their home and 9,400 resided in Nova Scotia.

According to the latest 2006 census the Arab Canadians are 470,580 [2]


Arab Canadians come primarily from the following Arab countries: Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Algeria, Morocco.
