Aras was formed in
2002 by Ehsan K, who goes by
the name "Lord Aras". Aras is one of the first and few black metal
bands in Iran. Lord Aras was born in 1979 in Shiraz, Iran and he has studied art.

Aras is influenced by Samad Behrangi Iranian socialist and writer which was drowned in the Aras
river. Aras name came form there. In 2006 he signed the contract
with an American underground black metal label
Ragnarok Records.
Official Biography : Ehsan "Aras" K. was
born at a dusk full of nightprayer dogs cries. After completion of
painting studies in expressionism style, Darkness hugged him in
it's bosom. And the first roar of holy Aras (band) began in
29.feb.2002. The word Aras means "Tears" but also is the name of a
holy river in west north of Iran that "Samad Behrangi", greatest
prophet of Iran, has drowned into Aras. The band Aras roared galore
from love to it's mournful land. After two years Lord Aras
understood that 29.feb is the execution anniversary of Iran's
greatman; "Khosrow Golsorkhi" . A man brimful of love to Iran.
Recording of the first demo of Aras named Bloody Aras, was finished
in february of the year 2002 then epic was
begun.
