Archaean Harmony is a Maltese metal band started in 1995. It has seen a number of line-up and stylistic changes throughout the years.

Early Years

Archaean Harmony was founded in January of 1995 by Darkmortem (Chris Zarb) and Lord Trebor (Robert Agius). The first release was the January 1998 demo ‘Resentment Of An Evanesce Aeon’. The line up for this session included Darkmortem, Lord Trebor, guitar player Adrameleck and session bass and drum programming. The opening track ‘Beneath the Seas of Absu’ would be featured on various compilation tapes and on the CD sampler ‘Tomorrow’s Millionaires’ released by Toppling Colossus Records. In all the band would sell over 600 copies of ‘Resentment Of An Evanesce Aeon’.

A second demo, recorded at Temple Studios with Lord Trebor handling the bulk of the instrumentation, was released in 1999. Guitarist Adrameleck departed in 1999 to be replaced by Adriel (Chris Mintoff).

Early 2000's

The band signed to Solemn Music to issue the 2000 ‘Nihility Mundane Soul’ CD, the same material recorded a couple of months before at Temple Studios. 'Nihility Mundane Soul' sold around 2000 copies and further generated another 3000 on-line downloads of the track ‘Metabolism Under the Ascending Moon - Part 2’ on the mp3.com site. This same track was also featured on various compilation tapes and on the compilation album ‘Insights of the Profane’ issued by the American Makahru label, and the ‘Blood In The Waters’ compilation released by Deadtide.

During early 2001 Archaean Harmony enrolled Enshroud, Sceptopcrypt and Dysmennorhea man Asmodeus (Conrad Borg) on keyboards, Enshroud drummer Bocc (Kenneth Paul Pace) and No Name Yet bassist Steven Muliett. Conrad Borg quit soon after.

Stylistically, the band moved further away from their quasi-black metal past and towards more progressive music.

Present

Co-founder and guitarist Robert Agius and guitarist Chris Mintoff quit the band in 2003 due to personal reasons.

Adrian Camilleri (ex-Angeldust) took up guitar duties in early 2004. The other co-founder of the band, Chris Zarb, quit in mid-2004, also for personal reasons. The band had a stint as a three-piece instrumental band.

Conrad Borg re-joined the band as vocalist in late 2004, and singer Bianca Caruana joined in summer of 2005.

The current line-up includes Kenneth Pace on drums, Steve Muliett on bass, Conrad Borg and Bianca Caruana on vocals, and Adrian Camilleri on guitars. Virtually all black metal references have been dropped, opening up to a versatile progressive sound with frequent references to jazz.

No new releases have been issued by the band since 2000.
