Encyclopedia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Archon (Ancient Greek: Ἄρχων; 4th century BC) was a Pellaean appointed satrap of Babylonia after the death of Alexander the Great (323 BC),[1] is probably the same as the son of Cleinias mentioned in the Indian expedition of Alexander.[2] As it is proved from an inscription in Delphi, Archon had taken part both in Isthmian and Pythian Games of c. 333-332 BC, where he won in horse-races.
