General info
Arelith is a server in the NWN multiplayer experience.
It is considered by many to be among the best of the persistant worlds out amongst the servers.
Run and cared for by Jjjerm, the server is based on the Faerun world that many D&D players love and enjoy.
The server itself is famous for how the owner (Jjjerm) refuses to allow haks to alter the content in it.
Instead choosing to use the base NWN games and expansions.
Due to a script writer and programmer named Gigaschatten, the server received a major overhaul, resulting in numerous additions.
Such as a hunger, thirst, and rest system.
When Gigashatten left, a script writer named Mithreas stepped up to the plate, and began to prove himself a worthy replacement.
In order to have a grand wonderous place without the addition of haks, the server turned towards Artos, As many of the DMs, Devs, and the players have stated.
"We do not require haks.
We have Artos."
And it is quite true, as the areas of arelith are beautiful, and breathtaking, At least for the neverwinter nights tile system.
The scripts have to be seen to be believed.
Including the creation of items, the renaming of said creating items, and even the personal enchanting of various other items to a point.
A low magic server, there is a limit of 30 levels, Meaning that while the characters can become quite powerful, they are not so ridiculously overpowered that one might believe.
Arelith also has a quite expansive and well detailed Drow section of the server.
Dark and dank, the server is well balanced and allows one to play a multitude of things.
Such as Drow, Goblins, Kobolds, Orogs, Duergar, Svirfneblin, aasimar, tieflings, fey, and various other races.
Using Leto scripts, the bonuses and penalties of each race becomes 'solid'.
Allowing a much greater flexibility with the races chosen.
Community:
The Arelith server has a growing community at their forums, as well as on the server itself.
The forums are filled with information on the history and the situation of Arelith.
Lore of Arelith
Arelith is situated in the Trackless Seas, An island of strange and wonderous happenings.
The capital City, known as Cordor, is ruled over by Lord Vetinari, Whom handles the highest acts.
He Delegates most of the work however to a council, which makes laws, edicts, and generally tends to the social potion of diplomacy.
The Guards enforce the laws strictly.
Ensuring that undesierables are not permitted.
Wharftown sits on the western portion of the island, laying right against the ocean, it is a fishing town, and its biggest export seems to be such.
It is filled with happy people, content to not be within the hustle and bustle of Cordor.
The people are tough and hardy, having been assaulted by various groups over the years.
The Bedir Fortress is a Halfling guarded fortress, Built for the protection of the wee folk, Including gnomes and dwarves if they so choose.
The mayor as of this writing is one Regrin Highhill, whom seems almost to the point of zealous in the protection and care of his fortress.
It too has a history of assaults, mostly by the drow.
Whom often wish to take the wee folk as miniature slaves to be sold at half price.
They too are tough and hardy, At least for halflings.
Stonehold is a years old fortress, Dedicated to the power of Bane.
History has not been kind to Stonehold's members.
A previous fortress has already being outright destroyed, leaving little more than ruins and rubble.
Led for quite some time by Lothar the Steelsworn, Stonehold has as of late, fallen into silence, The walls seem to be empty.
It is unknown if they have relocated or have merely finally given up the fight for Bane.
Not much is known about Myon, the Elven City.
It is as old as the elves are, or at least they claim it is.
And it is surrounded by a Mythal, one that ensures that Myon is an exclusively elven city.
As a result not muhc is known about Myon, unless one inquires from the elves.
But considering how elves are with other races, that may not be the best idea.
Currently led by King Trintiren.
Brogdenstien, Or Brog as it is commonly known, is a Dwarven city.
Dug deep within the mountains, the halls have been empty for quite some time.
The few dwarves there not entirely wishing to attract attention to themselves.
However as of late things have begun to stir.
Could the Dwarves be regaining numbers to once again become a formidible force within the Arelith Island?
Light Keep is a bastion of the Triad, a conglomerate of the three gods Ilmatar, Torm, and Tyr.
They stand hard against the evils of arelith, and offer compassion and care to refugees that come to their walls.
Well trained men patrol the area surrounding the fortress at all times.
Wary of everyone that might come and bring plans for an assault.
Currently led by Sir Erik Silverarms, Knight of Light Keep.
The Arcane Tower is a station of learning, Housed within a Pocket plane, the Tower is filled with students, mages, and others of learned stature.
It has a long history, that not everyone knows.
The current Archmages are Kathele Se'Lhane, Abel Night Road, and Jacob Swift.
Udos is a drowish city down within the underdark.
Hidden deep, deep below the earth, This writer however has recieved information on its exact location.
It is placed within th- *the rest of the notice is covered in blood.
A drow dagger stucking to the corner*
Grond is the underdarks 'slave camp' Where goblins, orogs, Kobolds, Duergar, and Svirfneblin all congregate.
Enough of a force on its own to have gained some minor freedoms from the drow that call them slaves, They often time will lead assaults on the surface as shock troops for the Drow.
Although quite a few of them seem to have plans of their own.
They each have their own leaders respectivly.
