Arete is an
American rock band formed in 2008.
They combine diverse elements of rock,
industrial,
reggae,
jazz,
new wave,
electro,
rave and
psychedelia, with ambient
vocals.
The group from
Idaho consists of Jarin Bressler on
guitar and vocals.
Caleb Howard
drums, samples, and programming.
Trever Kuetemeyer plays lead guitar and sings; while Wyatt Straw plays
bass guitar.
Biography
Formation
Arete started in 2007 as a worship band collaboration between Trever Kuetemeyer in
Hayden, Idaho and Jarin Bressler.
Early on Trever heard recongnized the amazing talents of Wyatt Straw.
With the recruiting of Drummer Caleb Howard, Arete worked feverishly in their youth group studio to demo a new collection of songs.
Creatively ambitious, they explored a new definition for themselves as to how their rock band should sound and perform.
Finding inspiration in things often considered the antithesis of modern rock music they were determined to carve a unique niche in which to place their songs.
The result was a captivating sound scape of experimental rock drenched in irresistible hooks.
Out of this creative mind trust came a new musical genre.
Stop-n-go rock was born.

Current Status
Unison returns to the road in 2008.
Arete's first music video, "The Storm", will premier on
YouTube on June 13, 2008.
The concept video features the band performing in extreme environmental conditions.
It was shot in one take with no edits.
Despite the band's increasing popularity in the US,
College Road Records has not distributed a single to radio.
The quartet is currently touring and writing material for a 2008 full-length release.

Arete is on a mission to introduce Stop-N-Go rock to America.
Trever is a former member of The Chasing The Chasing.
Jarin and Trever are former members of Pestered Primal Pinecones. During the early stages of the band, it was simply called "JT Band".
The name was changed to reflect the bands pursuit of excellence in musical entertainment.
Arete usually opens their concert wearing their trademark glasses.
