According to legend, Aricia was a Celtic chieftain
who betrayed her former lover Caratacus to the Romans after he married someone
else. Beautiful and wicked, she was rumored to be a dark witch. She
lived in Camulodunum (modern day Colchester) for a while
and went on to rule Brigantia (the North). She supported
"Romanization" and she was a bit older than Boudica. She appears to be based on the
historical Cartimandua
