Arleta High School

Arleta, which, as of its opening in 2006, serves grades 9 through 10, is a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District; the school phased in grade 11 in fall 2007 and phased in grade 12 in fall 2008. On June 2009 the first ever class of mustangs graduated. As of 2006, Dr. Linda Calvo is the principal. Arleta serves most of Pacoima and Arleta.

The school colors are Victory red and black and the team mascot is the Mustangs.

The school houses three small schools: the School for Social Justice, the School of Science Math and Related Technologies, and the School of Visual and Performing Arts.

All three small schools utilize block scheduling where students take four 90 minute classes a day. Students finish a year's study in sixteen weeks, thus allowing for enrollment in two additional courses per academic year.
