Arnold Reisman (August 2, 1934) is an American engineer, historian and author, who was professor of Operations Research at Case Western Reserve University.

Biography

Arnold Reisman was born in Lodz, Poland, in 1934. He came to the United States after World War II and graduated from New York's Stuyvesant Height School of Math and Science in 1951. He received his BS, MS, and PhD degrees in engineering from University of California, Los Angeles. He is a registered Professional Engineer in California, Wisconsin, and Ohio, and has published over 300 papers in refereed professional journals, along with 16 books. Reisman served 27 years as Professor of Operations Research at Case Western Reserve University.

During 1999-2003, he was an invited Visiting Scholar in Turkey at both Sabanci University, and the Istanbul Technical University.

He is listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, American Men and Women of Science, and Two Thousand Notable Americans, and he is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Reisman is living in Shaker Heights, Ohio.

Work

His current research interests are technology transfer, epistemology, meta research, and most recently, the history of German-speaking professors who, starting in 1933, were exiled from their homelands by the Third Reich, found sanctuary and work in the Republic of Turkey, and had a phenomenal impact on science in general and Turkish universities in particular. Reisman is also actively pursuing his lifelong interest in sculpting.

He is a great fan of ATATURK and Modern Turkey.
